HISTORY & SIGNIFICANCE
Beach House Ashland is part of Leading Families Home. The building was acquired in 2016 as part of the merger between Beach House Family Shelter and F.O.C.U.S. Since this time, the facility has been utilized as administrative space for Leading Families Home.
Once a nursing home facility, Beach House Ashland offers a generous amount of individual rooms. In 2020, Leading Families Home started renovations on this facility to create an additional overflow emergency family shelter for those facing homelessness in Lucas County.
Currently, the list of families seeking emergency shelter is over 190 individuals with an unknown number of children. Beach House Ashland opened in June 2023, and can house up to 75 individuals. This facility will allow us to serve 3x more individuals in addition to those served at Beach House Family Shelter on Erie St., but we can't do it without your help.

Bathrooms
Beach House Ashland (BHA) has six bathrooms. Our bathrooms require toilets, baths, storage, mirrors, bath mats, and more. We will also need paper and cleaning products, towels, soap, and shower curtains on an ongoing basis.
Bathrooms will be used for visitors and Participants who are housed at BHA while transitioning from homelessness to permanent housing.

Bedrooms
Beach House Ashland (BHA) has eighteen bedrooms. Our bedrooms require beds, cribs, storage, rugs, artwork, and more. We will also need bedding, pillows, hangers, and hand sanitizer on an ongoing basis.
Bedrooms will house Participants at BHA while they transition from homelessness to permanent housing.

Bike Racks & Installation
We hope to install two bike racks outside of Beach House Ashland. These bike racks will allow our visitors and Participants to store their bikes in a safe and convenient way.
To ensure the safety of the bike racks, we are required to install cement foundations as well as fences around the perimeter of the bike racks.
To sponsor a bike rack and installation, please donate $2,500.
Kids' Playroom
We will have one kids' playroom at Beach House Ashland. This playroom requires storage, shelving, floor mats, seating, books, and sensory toys. We will also need books, toys, and hand sanitizer on an ongoing basis.
This playroom will give our kids a safe and stimulating room to play and relax as their families transition from homelessness to permanent housing.

Computer Room
We will have one computer room at Beach House Ashland. This room requires computers, a printer, shelving, storage, desks, chairs, and accessories. We will also need computer mice, mousepads, and hand sanitizer on an ongoing basis.
The computer room will allow our Participants an area to virtually attend education classes, perform research, search and apply for jobs, sign up for resources, and more.
To sponsor our computer room, please donate $5,000.
Laundry Rooms
Beach House Ashland contains four laundry rooms. These rooms require industrial-strength washers and dryers, a folding table, as well as storage and shelving. We will also need laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and laundry baskets on an ongoing basis.
The laundry rooms allow our Participants to keep their clothing clean as they transition from homelessness to permanent housing.
To sponsor a laundry room, please donate $10,000.
Cafeteria
There is one cafeteria next to the kitchen in Beach House Ashland. The cafeteria requires tables, chairs, dinnerware, flatware, serviceware, trays, and more.
We will serve meals to our Participants in our cafeteria once Beach House Ashland opens.
To sponsor our cafeteria, please donate $10,000.
Kitchen
The kitchen in Beach House Ashland requires commercial-grade stoves, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, pots, pans, plexiglass barriers, and more. To ensure the kitchen functions properly, much work needs to be done on plumbing and electrical lines.
To sponsor our kitchen, please donate $30,000.

BEACH HOUSE II CONSTRUCTION
